The Use of CRM-service and the New EU General Data Protection Regulation
02.10.2017
The new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to all organizations and associations that hold or process personal data of EU citizens. The regulation was approved on 14 April 2016 and it will apply from 25 May 2018, after which the non-compliant organizations can be fined by the authorities. The regulation concerns all data that can be used to identify a person.
The regulation will increase the responsibilities of the customers to take care of the data in the CRM system. The GDPR will make changes for example in the following topics:
- Data Processing Agreement
- The customers’ Responsibility for Documentation
- Accountability, Data Protection Regulation
and appointment of a Data Protection Officer - Right to be Forgotten
- Transfer of personal data
- Increase in penalties
CRM-service Oy will help their customers to adjust their practice to the new regulation. CRM-service will also send more information about the upcoming changes and the training and advice about the data protection regulation.
